On the road with G and T

It's a new month, a great time to take to the road.
We're headed for Darwin though it will take us several weeks to get there.

This is our route.

We're going via Carnarvon gorge as we've never been there and it's kind of on the way.
It will take us 3 days to get there as we don't travel very fast.

It was a frosty morning this morning - a good time to leave.....except we are headed for somewhere colder.

First stop - Inverell, where it is forecast to be minus 2 overnight, so we are planning our first stop in a caravan park where we can have electricity and plug in our heater.
Yep, sounds like a plan!

We were farewelled by Oakley from next door, she couldn't believe we were departing and not staying to play games with her. Last sighted standing forlornly in the middle of the road.
We actually left 20 mins before planned departure time! Another first for us!

Somehow we had to cross the Great Dividing Range to get inland a bit. This involved a long and winding road which led to Walcha.
We travel very slowly on long and winding.

Apsley gorge appeared at just about the right time for lunch.
It was cool there - about 10 degrees.
Still it was sunny and we stretched our legs along the scenic rim track.

Nothing much else to report along the way....we got to the caravan park in time for happy hour (except there wasn't one!) and to catch the last rays of sun as it slipped below the Inverell horizon.
